Pint Fundraiser vs Scoop Night vs Ice Cream Social

Three ice cream fundraising formats, three different jobs. Use pints to scale, scoop nights for traffic, and socials for community - or stack them.

By The Giving Scoop Team

Pint fundraiser

Families pre-order take-home pints online for a set window. The shop produces what sold. This is the format The Giving Scoop is built for: seller links, card checkout, packing lists, and automatic splits. It scales past a single evening and works in January.

Scoop night / spirit night

The organization sends traffic to the parlor for a few hours. The shop donates a percentage of in-store sales. Chains like Jeni’s, Handel’s, and Bruster’s publish versions of this. It is excellent marketing. It is a poor system of record - you cannot attach every scoop to a student seller without extra process.

Ice cream social

An event: tickets, toppings, a park or cafeteria. High community value, weather and volunteer risk, and usually a cap on attendance. Pair it with a pint pre-sale so rain does not zero out the campaign. See our ice cream social guide.

Stack the formats

A strong semester: two-week pint pre-sale on The Giving Scoop, pickup day hosted as a social, optional scoop night at the parlor for people who missed the order window. One story, three revenue moments.
